Good lesson for all of us

You best remove my personal information, from your website. I know how to use the tax record database..so unless you want your home address plastered all over the internet.I suggest you remove mine.

Parking at night

GDOE counters:

Exactly right, but cant always time deliveries, early am. Get a pickup afternoon, have to really drive until well past midnight

double-quotes-end.png

The only time I've had "problems", and they aren't problems, is with 4-6pm times. Other than that, I'd rather watch the sunrise.

I love driving nights, but have to take into consideration, weather, area, available truck stops and delivery times. Dont want to make it to Chicago right at 8am..do ya?

My short Journey with Schneider is over -- I am the fool

Little advice driver,in the future, just ask the yard jockey for help, give him $5-$10 for helping you out. Makes a great impression.

Parking at night

This is why I love to drive starting around midnight - 2am. When your day is done, you pull into any truck stop, pick any spot, and pull through!

Early afternoon you can have a football game on the parking lot.

Exactly right, but cant always time deliveries, early am. Get a pickup afternoon, have to really drive until well past midnight. Fun trying to find parking at 2am,plus all the bears are out..although dui is usually what their looking for..but they will write up an easy violation,if they see one.

Parking at night

Some walmarts have signs stating no parking but.If you politely ask the manager,to park for 10 hours, they rarely say no. Calling first is also an option.

Walmart is your best friend, when running out of hours at night. Driver safety is important. Lots of robberies,at rest areas after dark. Most walmarts are 24 hours, and have cameras and security personal.

Im quite shure the load shifted in the hills of virginia, right before my shift,if I remember right we were 11,800 33800 33500

When we left Cali, tandems were fully forward obviously.

Best teaming company?

If its that important, you just alternate home time, the other driver continues solo, while the other driver takes his home time or.. Split the cost of extra fuel between the two drivers. I doubt many companies are going to let you burn a whole tank of fuel, dropping off team mate, driving home, then driving back.

What company does what???

If you have a CDL,you can go anywhere you like. Every company will promise everything to you. If I were you,Id find an area, where the cost of living is low,and its also close to a trucking terminal. Paying high rent, when you and the wife are on the road, doesnt make sense. How far south are you looking to go?

We scaled the load once, before leaving california.

Scale tickets

It was a preloaded trailer, sealed when we picked it up. Load was heavy, and we traveled 3000 miles with the load. Lots of weight stations weighed us during the trip. Im the smoothest driver out there,no hurry driving, backing etc. The partner I got stuck with was a real D bag,he had bad vision, liked to tailgate, braked late and hard, driving through mountains,he took turns too fast. I had trouble sleeping while he drove, after the ticket,I threw him off the truck.

Out of state CDL and Non approved school??

Once you have a cdl,you would just need to apply to companies, each one will most likely send you out, with their in house safety department. Pass their test..you get hired.

Scale tickets

Actually they will write the ticket,to the truck owner. Your company will pay the ticket, and charge you back. Refuse to pay ticket, and your fuel card will be turned off,and you wont be moving any freight. A load shifted on me,I was 5K over on tandems.,ticket cost $1150,Company made me sign an agreement for $50 weekly, until paid. Ticket was not my fault, partner was a poor driver, load was 3000 mile trip, and we scaled a dozen times, during the journey. I just started driving my shift, when I was issued the ticket.
