Knight Transport my new career starts !

Thanks Brett ! you put together a great training program. I learned a lot from it and will be referring back to the equation part of weights and balances for sure. I still want to complete the hazmat portion as i will want to get that eventually too. Heck it took me longer to get through the high road training program then my school..lol I will be checking in through out training and beyond i imagine .TT has become my hangout the last few months and really enjoy reading everyones comments and questions. super helpful too.

Knight Transport my new career starts !

Just wanted to let everyone know I finally decided to go with Knight Transportation as my first trucking company. August 3rd will be my orientation start. Looking forward to going through a great training program (from what i have herd/read ) which was a big factor in my decision as well as the combination of pay (Eventually) and a regional route out of the gate ! Oh ya !! Thanks to everyone for the great info here at TT .

Over the road fitness?

The company i work for now has an incentive program thats pretty cool . you have four areas they measure and for each one that you pass....say BMI or cholestrol... they gave you $200 bucks in your H.S.A or flexible spending account plus a lower premium on insurance. I have not seen any Hsa offered in trucking companys yet though just flex. hope that changes soon...excercise wise though those bands look like a good idea along with a dvd or two....somebody should make a an excercise dvd performing all exercises in a truck or around one... i would buy it good-luck-2.gif

Should where my truck get maintenenced be a factor in a company to work for?

Ya its not a main factor for me but i never considered it till i spoke with the owner that day. kenneth i agree though its a factor for me but will be down there on the list. Brett thanks for the estimate on time spent in the shop because 5% cause thats what made me ask the question . my instructor made it sound like it would be in the shop every few weeks or more ..

Over the road fitness?

I will be interested to see some of the comments .. i know there are some threads about this already too. i am about to start my training and be on the road soon so am researching some different ways to workout myself.. im guessing a lot of bodyweight stuff will work and those resistantance bands maybe...

I quit the pot, and I want to drive trucks.

Hey BB , just wanted to encourage you to go for it in 3 months like Brett said maybe even 6 just to be safe. i heard hair tests might go back that long (6 months) but from unreliable sources. Im just getting ready to start driving truck myself and am really excited. i am from Sparks and went to truck school here in town. anyways good luck just wnted to chime in since were neighbors and all. Peace!
