Congratulations, JJ! Good lick at Knight. Where do yo go for training? I hear they closed most of their schools down. (But they are training somewhere!)

Errol, I think you missed the part where he said Orientation. I was thinking the exact same thing as you when I read it the first time... I had to re-read to catch the Orientation part....
Thanks Errol, Ralph is right I already passed my drivers test and have my license. i went to a private school here in Sparks, Nv. I will be doing the company training in phoenix though..
Hey that's awesome news JJ! I just looked at your High Road Training scores and you really tore that thing up with a 98% score. And you did the Logbook Rules and Weight & Balance sections! When I first saw your score I thought, "Yeah, but which sections did he complete?" But you went after the toughest stuff and made it look easy. Great job!
Good luck with Knight! Check in often and let us know how things go for ya!
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
A written or electronic record of a driver's duty status which must be maintained at all times. The driver records the amount of time spent driving, on-duty not driving, in the sleeper berth, or off duty. The enforcement of the Hours Of Service Rules (HOS) are based upon the entries put in a driver's logbook.
Thanks Brett ! you put together a great training program. I learned a lot from it and will be referring back to the equation part of weights and balances for sure. I still want to complete the hazmat portion as i will want to get that eventually too. Heck it took me longer to get through the high road training program then my school..lol I will be checking in through out training and beyond i imagine .TT has become my hangout the last few months and really enjoy reading everyones comments and questions. super helpful too.
Explosive, flammable, poisonous or otherwise potentially dangerous cargo. Large amounts of especially hazardous cargo are required to be placarded under HAZMAT regulations
Congrats JJ, hopefully I'll catch you out on the road sometime as I'm with Knight and run out of Indy. The Reno terminal is being remodeled and the Vegas terminal is right down the street from the main drag. Welcome and good luck !!
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Loving every minute of it, plenty of miles, working my clock and learning a lot along the way. I'm headed back to the house in the morning for home time this weekend, then right back at it.

Just wanted to let everyone know I finally decided to go with Knight Transportation as my first trucking company. August 3rd will be my orientation start. Looking forward to going through a great training program (from what i have herd/read ) which was a big factor in my decision as well as the combination of pay (Eventually) and a regional route out of the gate ! Oh ya !! Thanks to everyone for the great info here at TT .
