Overcoming an employment gap

I have read similiar topics on here. Some people have gotten letters wrote from people that they have worked for. Also having letters from family members or those that know of your circumstances. As far as your college days if you have some sort of proof that you were attending school during the time you stated will work. The more info you can gather regarding your employment gaps the better. Good luck with your new adventure.

Sage Truck Driving School.

Well after a year of getting things in order and doing a whole lot of soul searching I will be going to Billings Montana to attend Sage Truck Driving School. My start date is April 25th,2016. Beings it has not been that long ago that I let my CDL go, I will be doing the refresher course. I was told that this would be sufficient. I will share which companies I have picked. May Trucking, Swift, Celedon,Interstate, and Knight Transportation. I know alot of people dont like to hear this but I will be doing the L/O thing. I feel very comfortable with these companies. So now its study, study, and study. Thanks to this site for the study and testing materials that you offer here.

What truck would you choose?

I kinda like the Lone Stars, however if I was footn the bill it would be a 10 speed 579 Pete. One thing to consider is a truck that can pull Van, Reefer, Flatbed, or may be even oil field equipment. My choice then would be KW 900.

Crete carrier or may trucking

I worked for May back in 2012, and I was very impressed with the company. I went to orientation for 3 days and on the 4th day was out with a trainer. After training was done and I passed my final testing I was given the choice of 2 different trucks,I picked the 2011 Pro-Star. They let me go home for 4 days and I returned on the 5th day and got all my stuff in my truck, got rested up and on the 6th day were rolling. I noticed when I first started solo they gave me plenty of time to adjust to the way things worked. They would give me loads that were easy to get in and out of and some were drop and hook while others were live load and unload. I ran 11 Western, one day I might be pulling a dry van and the next a reefer. As time went on they started giving me 2 trips at a time, then 3. At times I sat for a day waiting for a load ,but as time went on I appreciated that day of sitting to get my stuff back in order. I was never denied my home time when I put in for it and was allways able to go home when scheduled. I was there 2 months and got a brand new Pete with 80 miles on it. Now there were times that I had to do over night runs which was ok. A lot of people complained about their idle policy which they do have a pretty strict idle policy, however when I was stuck in Northern Cali in July or in Rawlins Wyo in January all I had to do was call them or send a message to let them know what was going on. I never had any issues with idle time. At that time they had power inverters that they would sell ya on payments or if you had your own they would install it. All in all I had a great experience with May. Sorry about the long paragraph lol. What ever company you pick, be safe and remeber to have fun..

Quality truck Sales

Hello guys and gals. Just wondering if anybody has dealt with Quality. My son is at Celedon and is doing there lease program. They give ya a list of trucks and then you pick out what truck you want. He knows what he wants, but every time he finds the truck he wants they tell him its take. He is there at 730 in the morning and finds his truck, just to be told it is taken. The list comes out 2x a day. He said it seems like they are trying to push either Freightliner or Prostar on him and thats not what he wants. Has anybody on here dealt with em before..

Knight Transportation, CDL and etc

I am looking for updated information on Knight and if they will help me regain my CDL. I read some where that they dont have a school,is this correct? I am having a bit of a delima on what to do or where to go to get my CDL. I live in extreme Eastern Montana and so my choices locally are slim.

Hey Powerball Winner. What will you do with that money?

Wow what would I do with all that money? Well theres 8 siblings in my family, so they would all be millionnaires. My mom would be living in a final days resort. I live in Montana so I would buy me a hobby farm with minature horses, donkeys, and chickens lol. I would still want to drive truck or be part of the industry so some thinking on that. Safe Haven parking comes to mind. One thing I have allways wanted to do is own about 15-20 PBR Bucking Bulls. So theres what I would do....
