How should I resign?

1) Secure new job.

2)Take home time and clean out your truck.

3) Call dispatcher or whoever and ask where to turn in your truck and trailer. Do what they say.

4)Take pictures inside and out to document you turned it in clean.

5) Enjoy life and your new job.

Overlooked pre-trip item

I always checked under the hood after being in the shop. I have found missing caps, open headlight flaps and fluids not filled.

Lesson learned.

Rookie Lesson 34589709: Spare Eyeglasses

A Bungie cord make a cheap paper towel holder. The cord goes through the paper towels and the hooks hang wherever you can.

What would a good cpm be for a new driver in 2024?

Get in wherever you can. CPM doesn't matter if the miles aren't there. Most companies are hurting for freight and there are hundreds of experienced drivers needing work. Companies large and small are shutting down.

Good luck.

Ring The Bell...School Starts Next Week!

Congratulations and best wishes. I have passed by that location several times. It looks ok. Knight is a good company. You may know that Swift and US Express are under the same umbrella. You can do this. You will be learning lots during your training and years on the road.

Where to find jobs?

I'd like to remove the auto restriction.

Is it a simple drive around town test, or also needs the new CDL pad maneuvers?

I can find a manual tractor, but harder to find trailer for a test.

I would say to check with local CDL schools.

Where to find jobs?

It's 12 hour shifts with lots of sitting around and two weekdays off. I'm here until I retire or die. My supervisor has been here 14 years. She said she's here until she retires, dies or they take her out in handcuffs.

At Velocity in Charlotte we have a day shift guy leaving. I do not know how quick they will fill the position. You need Hasmat and tanker and be able to drive a manual.
