Having trouble making up my mind...

Hey Bill, I'm sorta like you because it can be hard for me to make big decisions like this. I don't know anything about Wiltrans but I can say that if Walmart is on your options list then I would choose Prime. I like it over here a lot. The Walmart account would require a lightweight. Sounds like OTR is what you want so your wife can travel with you and so that you can get a full size. Going OTR with Prime is a good gig and if somewhere down the road you decide that Walmart is what you wanna do then you can switch to the Walmart dedicated. It's not that big of a deal. Now if you got OTR with Willtrans and then decide down the road that you would like to try that Walmart then you would be switching companies. I'd rather join one company and have the options to move around within as I want. Also, OTR reefer guys do Walmart runs when they get to Maine. So you could be running OTR with Prime and have the opportunity to do a few of those Walmart runs. I hear it gets busy up there so OTR guys help out. When that day come you may love it or hate it. It would really help you make up your mind I believe. So just to recap, I would choose Prime OTR just so that you still have the option to switch over to Walmart down the road if you want. It's pretty easy switching around within our company like that.

The biggest reason people stop driving a truck?

I may just be one of the lucky few. I don't get lonely out here, homesick yes but Lonely no. I've got a handful of other drivers that I talk to on the phone with everyday and we give each other support so I never get lonely but I do miss home at times. I've no family though so that may help my situation.

For Rainy

I'm not rainy but I can tell you my experience. It seemed to me that most folks arrived on Sunday at Campus Inn. Second, they really don't care how you get to Springfield or where you get on the bus at. As long as you get there, who cares haha Tell them you will be in Boston at that time and you need a ride from Boston, Prime will make it happen for you. I hate dealing with paper work but it's better to have it and not need it than to get there and wish you hadn't left it in Vermont.

Boyle transport?

Did a quick google search myself, nothing extensive but it appeared to be a company that ran teams just from what I saw. They kept talking about 5000+ mile weeks and twenty some cents per mile. They have auto transmissions too haha just happened to see that on their web page.

What's next ????

Looks like you live in Louisiana and Prime has a southeast regional now so that might be something to check out.

Gym Membership

I run a dedicated account in upstate New York so I am back at the customer most days and I joined planet fitness in town. There are many locations and for your idea of using it over the road could be feasible I believe. PF has an app which tells you where all the locations are near you. Some are in large shopping centers where you could park or they are located near a Walmart where you could park and walk a block or two. I think if your serious about this the best option would be to park at a truck stop or customer and Uber over there. Again I'm not OTR anymore but if I were that's something I would consider. I wouldn't expect to hit the gym everyday being OTR as you may not always have time to stop or theblocations might not always be near to where you need to be. A few hand weights in the truck and you can do a lot of upper body exercises. But for 20 dollars a month you can't really go wrong.

Sick--anyone tried a humidifier?

Old school, you leave the crockpot turned off and let the bunk heater do all the work of turning water into steam?

Somebody told me to run the AC with the heat on if I had a problem drying out with the heater. Haven't tried it yet but it may be worth a shot
