CDL help for Veterans

The veteran apprenticeship program is a good deal. If the company you chose is approved by the VA for this program I suggest you look into it. You'll get BAH for a year or two depending on the company. You should also get reimbursed for whatever you paid for trucking school even if there are no out of pocket costs to you and it's just your gi bill money

What does a quarantine due to coronavirus mean for truckers?

These numbers are completely misleading IMO. The deaths are inflated and also instantly tallied and reported. While the recoveries take two consecutive negative tests to deem an individual recovered. The false positive/negatives, the lag time of receiving results, and people with no symptoms or mild symptoms whom are never tested and just recover at home, you just can't go off the numbers. I suspect there are many more recovered than what is reported because the criteria is BS and the deaths are severely inflated.

Meanwhile, American citizen's natural rights are being stripped away and there are many Americans who want this. They are crying for martial law and mandatory closures of businesses. "Arrest those who do not comply with the shelter in place orders," is what they say. Did we forget what it took to gain the rights we have? Did we forget how many died in the many wars and civil rights movements? Did we forget what America was and continues to be built on?

This is a disgrace.

What are everybodys thoughts on Laredo, TX making the wearing of a mask when outdoors mandatory and enforced by fine or even arrest? I don't like it. I don't like any of this really.

Some interesting opinions here. Life goes on or it doesn't. Panic accomplishes nothing positive however, it is natural to worry a bit.

Flatbed Speedy Securement, Unsecurement and Organization!

When I did flatbed I would take everything off minus a few straps or chains while i was waiting to be unloaded. Very seldom did i pull into a place and they were ready to unload me as soon as i pulled the ketchup and mustard. In those instances I did what everybody else is telling you. Get everything off and out of the way, and then clean up while being unloaded.

Requesting Advice About Choosing A Company

Iā€™m not skinny enough for car hauling šŸ˜†šŸ˜‚. Those guys gotta grease up to get in and out some of the doors once they are loaded on the trailer šŸ˜‚šŸ˜†

Tell me about it... you'd be surprised though.

Info for Military vets

I am like you, I did the same but with Melton. Also started working a week after signing out on leave. I can't stress how great of an advantage that was for me.

I went to a private CDL school which was paid for with my GI bill and I was reimbursed for it by Melton. My first year driving and I was having money thrown at me from all directions. Second year, I actually had to go out and earn it. Third year, it's pretty much just routine now. Goodluck out here brother, I'm sure you will do well.

Requesting Advice About Choosing A Company

Errol, those $90,000 cars are child's play. Exotic and classic cars will be closer to $900,000 and you're definitely right. They need to be left to the experienced car haulers.

Requesting Advice About Choosing A Company

Plycar, mecum, reliable to name a few. United roads and some other companies will train recent grads depending on location and other factors unknown to me. Most likely you will need a year or two of driving before applying to a new car auto transport company. You will then need more years hauling new cars before applying to a rare/exotic car company. There are exceptions to every rule of course, so don't take what I say as the end all.
