Mega Carriers mentor training just not working for me looking for small fleet owners
I'm between harrisburg and carlisle pa and yes some of those require experience. Pride i spoke with they require 5 weeks out at once and they dont run east coast like that
Alisa C.,
It would still help if you'd add your 'state' to your profile, for others to pitch in, without reading every post of yours.
However, you could DEFINITELY check out Dutch Maid Logistics; a state away. They have lanes in your area, through and TO your area.
Dutch Maid Logistics I've got two pals working there, still!
None of the LTL's would train you? There are SO MANY nearby! Look at Banks's diary, Delco Dave, and BobcatBob!
Another you could look into, is Witte Bros., Witte Bros. Truck Driving School & Company.
Both the training companies I mentioned, ARE smaller companies.
I can't speak for Kearsey, but I'll bet she will stop in, to answer other questions, and those that are Prime specific. Glad you stopped back; hope we are helping, somewhat!

ABF Freight Driver Development Program
I’m in touch with Double D about every other day… he’s doing well. Seems to have settled into Tom’s type of shift. 2 1/2.
Awesome, G'Town! Thanks for the heads up, for sure. Yep, that dang 2nd & 1/2 shift, hahaha!
Appreciate the update!!! Let him know I asked. Yeah, that shift is 'short' on spare time, I know.
(Now, when you read this, go tell Kevin in the new Witte Bros. diary to go toy shopping!) LoLOL!
Thanks, man. Always.

Witte brothers inc Cdl training
Kevin;
Me again, haha. I'm SO glad to read this; they really DO have an amazing training program as I'd heard years ago!
One more thing you can do, over the weekend: GO TO a WalMart, and buy a TOY TRACTOR TRAILER. Preferably one of the metal/die cast ones, as they are more accurate, size wise.
Trust me, this helps. When I had my permit (twice,) I used my son's said toys, per my husband, and BOY did it help it all make sense. Some trainers will actually suggest this; ie: Errol V. and especially G'Town (the Mr. 'Watch Your Wagon' brander!)
Since you are (sadly!) alone in your room, you won't feel silly, setting up cones and practicing!! Heck, I bet they even SELL a set of cones in the toy section, nowadays! When you get a new roomie/bunkie, you can teach HIM, haha!
I won't ask what happened to the other 1/2 class; I can only surmise. Sheesh. I'm just glad I didn't steer ya wrong!
One more thing; might help with pre trip:
I know, every company has their own way, and printed materials, but the illustrious version above, is IMPECCABLE!
Best to ya, man. Email in my profile, if I forgot something! (I chat w/a few truckers on here, with permission, LoL!)

Finding a trucking job with old DUI
I'm having the same problem. I went to school at cypress and was there till time to test and got cut loose because their insurance won't cover me because I have a 20 year old DUI. And 11 years ago I had a citation for an open container not in a vehicle. Everyone keeps telling me it's not a problem but I guess I'll find out having to start all over through training.
I'm about to start filling out job applications. I have a DUI conviction that is 20 years old. Since then I have a clean driving record. My question is, should I put that DUI conviction on my app? Thanks.
Mike B
Howdy, Justin; welcome to Trucking Truth!
Doubt anyone from before is still in this thread, but for the moderators, anyway.
A few questions, if I may;
1.) How long (if at all) have you driven?
2.) Is your CDL and Med Card current?
3.) Where are you located?
4.) Have you tried applying here? ~ Apply For Paid CDL Training
The link that Brett attached in his reply IS AWESOME; hope you did read it. Nowadays, many companies take DUI's on a case by case and time passed situation; you really should be able to find a company, imho.
Hope to hear back;

Haya, Dean; well at least you graduated with 'honors!'
You 'could' always join my guy (and Don) at FAB, LoL..
(Oh wait, then you'd have to drive a day cab, and get on PackRat's bad side, haha!)
Does UBER go that far?!?!? Greyhound ?!??!
Always something, man! Let us know.
Best wishes !!!

Revenue generated through forum
I mean no offense to anyone but are there any kick backs offered from any of sign on deals displayed on site? Thanks
I was just getting ready to walk out the door when you posted this.
I do not pay anyone to recruit for any companies. If anyone here in the forum is getting a sign-on bonus for recruiting, I am unaware of it.
We encourage everyone to promote their company if they're happy working there because our job is to help people get their careers off to a great start. Everyone wins when good recruits go to good companies.
But I do not pay anyone to recommend a company.
Brandon G., I can attest to this, personally. I've helped get Kerry on with DML (Dutch Maid Logistics) where he still thrives, and newly, Kevin L., with Witte Bros., where you can see his diary in that section, beginning. I've had many years in the industry, married to a 2 plusmillion miler, and I help out where and as I can. So do the others, on this site.
Most folks are 'ambassadors' for the companies they either work for, or know well. I brag about Tom's company often, (also his prior ones,) and will share information, as people ask...as well. No recruiting here.
I've not received (nor has Brett) any revenue nor reciprocity for helping either person, get on with a solid company.
Now, if Brett would ever get a 'merch line' going . . . there could BE some revenues!! :)

I'm on a 5ish day fishing trip with my father, was driving pulling the boat in the left lane saw the sign for a scale and started to move over for it. Also I was planted in the right lane behind of a bunch of trucks and my dad asked I plan on following them all day or can we pass them. I'm just so used to hanging out in the right lane it became 2nd nature.
That's awesome about the trip w/your dad, B'Bob!! If he lets you drive the BOAT, hopefully you'll LOSE that behaviour in the waterways, hahaha!
Have fun, man. Good time of year, to play!

ps: High FIVES, there..DAD !!! (Dashcam would've been awesome, eh?)

I meant to welcome you the other day as well, Shannon! Better late than never, so..WELCOME!
Lily is GORGEOUS !! You're gonna have quite the copilot!!
The photo is in your gallery, but it didn't post to the thread, because you either didn't label it, or hit 'GO' and wait for the 'success' message, and then see a thumbnail. You'll get it next time!
I'm happy for ya girl. Love to have more women up in here, too!
Check out some posts from Kearsey & Laura (IDMtnGal) on here, as you can. Both, long time drivers and/or trainers!
If you have time before you head out, check out: Truckin' Along w/Kearsey!
I'll be following your diary, and cheering you on, too!
Best wishes;

Kevin,
That sounds AWESOME! (Yep, it'd be a 34 hour reset, btw..)
What little I've heard & known about them (along w/ my other half,) they're an awesome group of people. I've seen a video somewhere, about their dorm style set up. I like it!
Really happy for ya, man! Ask away, any of us anytime, if any questions come up. I'm so glad you are keeping this diary for us, too!! Yeah, just like George said above; we don't hear of this company NEAR enough!
Best going forward!

ps: I'm glad to HEAR that you didn't give up. Please don't be defensive/combative; I didn't intend to be.
I'm not directing you to follow anyone; I've followed my husband for 2 mil plus miles...that's harder than you know!
Did you check Marten Transport, with a terminal in your area? Got a few happy folks driving with/for them, too!
Here's the link: Marten Transport.
A few others come to mind: PAM Transport, training via Driver Solutions; and PTL ... ie: Paschall Truck Lines. I don't have the links handy on those two; sorry.
Best always, for real.
