Hi just curious since I am not even in training yet but as some know I am an adult 58 wanting to train. But who do you and can you trust for ratings on companies? I have done a lot of web searching and trucking forums and find in all honesty the same things over and over again. With so many trucking companies that offer training I read on the left hand that that company is awful do not work for them and on the right hand I love that company. It seems that no matter what the company is big or small, refrigerated or not there are people that hate them and people that love them. And its hard for a person with no experience to actually gain an educated decision on what one to go with. How can a person with no experience know who to trust and who is honest. As with all companies it seems truckers love or hate them and do not find much on hey if your new and need training this company has a great program for a new driver. Any help would be appreciated greatly.

Congrads I am looking at this career at 58 to take the wife and pet full time on the road she wont drive thou. That seems really fast on the road with a trainer after I read others that were six weeks so best of luck to you and I bet your stoked to get going on your own. My biggest fear would honestly be backing up in tigh spots .

Well I am not sure how to interpret the rider policies being I am not a driver yet and looking for a lot of answers first. I see when I read yes some have rider policies only wife no problem married 26 years, but some say limited time rider policies, what does that mean exactly? I am looking for a company that I can train with , then work full time meaning essentially living in the truck 365 a year with my wife and my cat our kid more or less. So I can not really go on board with a company that says she can not go all the time with me but some time as our goal is to not have a home base and save as much as we can for several years. Is this reality and do you or do you know any one that has their wife with them and pet full time but the wife is not a driver at all? thank you again for answsering a new interested person

No pets are allowed on any Central Refrigerated trucks including lease and owner operators due to customer restrictions and policies

HI I have been asking a lot of things on here as a guide for my future career change after the first of the year. I need a company that allows my wife and cat to go full time with me. I was told that central refrigeration does but the web site I looked at said no pets so how do I find reliable listings of companies that offer company cdl training and allow wife along and pet cat along?

HI first thanks for all the feedback from you all, We are orriginally from St Louis Missour moved to Arizona 8 years ago. If I were to take my wife and pet with me do we actually have to have an apartment or can we just live out of the truck? And if I got my cdl will it be from the state the company operates out of or my home state? And if you move to another state do you have to take all the test and driving part over again to keep it, and how long is a class a cdl good for? Do you have to retake the driving part to renew it or just the written or how does that work?

First I am sorry for re posting same questions before I lost my internet acct and changed and did not know what to do so I created an email just for this forum replies wont double post again I promise.

But I have some questions and hope there not stupid but things I need to know to make a decision.

1. Take Central Refrigerated for instance as suggested to me, if I complete their training and their time with a trainer will I then be allwoed my wife and pet right away? And can they be with me full time all year long? And is that 150 fee mentioned a once year fee? or how does that work?

2. This one is from my wife would we both be allowed in a stop to go into the same shower together? And she asked how often do you all stop and actually use the showers etc is it daily or what as she likes to shower daily as I do to being honest.

3. Do the trucks have any kind of min fridge in them at all?

I am serious about this but looking to actually get going after the first of the year since this year is nearly over anyhow giving me time to set things up for the wife while I would be gone.

4. When you go to a company training program do you go straight from there to on the road with a trainer? and after training would you be able to come home to pick my wife and pet up?

Well I live in Glendale Arizona now for 8 years from St Louis all my life and am 58. I have a perfect driving record, normal guy 5 ft 8 about 185. I am married 26 years no kids but have a cat that is part of the family for 6 years no way will the wife give her up period. My wife would never ever and I mean ever drive a truck but would go full time with me as long as the can and her are allowed.

I need to find the following and is this even a possibility at all?

1. I need company cdl training as I dont have the funds for a private school now

2. I need a company that will not have a forever training period before I can go solo

3. I need a company that will allow not only my wife but my pet to go with me full time once I go solo driver.

So I guess what I am asking is there such a company at all that has fast sponsored training, has fast trainer time, and will allow the wife and pet to go with me right away once I am solo driver.

What my wife and me would love to do if possible is to esentially live on the road no home base for quite a few years and save as much as possible.

And suggestions would be greatly appreciated as my wife is one that would not go for me being gone for four months at a time but would be one that could be with me with our pet 365 days a year.
