Blind side backing. Help!

What place is it?

Martin Brower in Manassas, VA. I was able to get one driver to help me. Unfortunately many drivers are content watching the foolish swift driver. They were happy to pull out their phones and record though.

Blind side backing. Help!

Most places I’ve been are setup with drivers in mind. Walmart DCs, for instance, have plenty of room and you never have to blind side back. My next load delivers to somewhere I’d be forced to blind side back. Any pointers? I’ve thought of turning down the load for this reason. But I obviously did not

You cant makey money saying no

I’ve only turned down one load because it coincided with my other load. My dm doesn’t even give me a chance to turn them down at this point. They automatically commit me to loads until I ask for home time

Will a Recent misdemeanor affect finding a job

I don’t think anyone in the history of history has admitted to owning drugs/paraphernalia in the car. Read your story from someone else’s view and observe any holes.

Owning it. Almost a year experience.

Swift driver here. March 27 is my 365 day anniversary. I’ve had my fair share of bumps and bruises(not literally). I found it weird that when I had an accident you guys kept telling me to “own it.” But now I’ve gone through the forum enough and I get it. Obama/Trump made me crash. Sun is too bright. The sign was confusing. You guys deal with it all here.

Old company reported a preventable accident on my DAC

As a professional driver it’s not your job to maintain speed and cover your lane. It’s your job to observe and respond accordingly. That’s probably why they gave you a preventable.

First Accident Ever, Made Stupid Mistakes

Welcome to the club. Swift driver here. I did something relatively similar in West Virginia. Swift isn’t the boogie man everyone thinks. They also know that right turns are typically where ppl mess up. Just be honest when safety gives you a call and you’ll be fine.

How do you stay fit in a sedentary profession

5280 feet in a mile. Run up and down the side of a 53 trailer 100 times. I haven’t made it to 100 but I do run around my trailer. Also use bags of snow chains as weights

No home time for me.

Logistics. Gotta give as much notice as possible. You mainly get home time based on loads they have going your way

I failed by CDL state test twice...

Don’t beat yourself too badly. I went to Prime in May of 2018. Was doing so horribly that I left without testing. October 2018 I went to Roehl and was able to pass test but couldn’t handle practical/real world driving(mostly backing). Now I’m with swift almost a full year. Hang in there
