Blind Side Backing. Help!

Most places I’ve been are setup with drivers in mind. Walmart DCs, for instance, have plenty of room and you never have to blind side back. My next load delivers to somewhere I’d be forced to blind side back. Any pointers? I’ve thought of turning down the load for this reason. But I obviously did not

GOAL a lot and use a spotter. Blindside backing sucks sorry brother.

Swivel your passenger mirror to see your gap. Move it back as you get closer to the hole.

Cheers,

Just tell the other drivers you are new and ask them to spot you. Most will be happy to help.

The last major one I did took me more than 25 minutes, and more than 30 GOALs, too. It sucked, it took forever, but I got it into the dock with zero damage.

That's all that matters.

GOAL, GOAL, GOAL. You can't GOAL to much. GOAL before you setup. GOAL before you start your back. If you have a passenger side window in the sleeper open that up so you can better see that side. Adjust your passenger side mirror as you go. Pay attention to any and all things that you might hit. Did I mention GOAL?

Kudos to you for taking the load. That would be a terrible reason to turn down a load. Also, remember to keep your window down while backing.

Martin Brower in Manassas, VA. I was able to get one driver to help me. Unfortunately many drivers are content watching the foolish swift driver. They were happy to pull out their phones and record though.

Did you get copies of the videos? They would be great for you to learn from. Congratulations for getting it in without hitting anything.
