My husband said he always knows once we're in west Texas by the idiots who actually pass HIM...'cause he's normally going at least 10 over the speed limit (but that's not being an idiot).
When I was stuck in rush hour traffic in San Antonio with my brother, he told me that the best place to be was behind an 18-wheeler. Nobody likes to be right behind them, so you don't get cut off as often, and you're guaranteed to be able to stop faster than they can. Only thing is, you can't see very far up ahead when you're behind them.
Then again, I've also been dumb enough to drive to Austin in the pouring rain at night right behind a box truck going 80 on the nice windy roads.
