Well I made it through the training program. I wanted to cuss my trainer a time or two mostly I just went off alone at truck stops when I needed space. But all in all it was a good experience my trainer was top notch and was all about teaching I no doubt have a guy I can call on for help and advice anytime. For you guys out there getting ready for training just remember to have a humble attitude about it and keep your eyes and ears open. The trainer does not know everything but he does know the job better than you and his job is to teach you put him to work! Thank you to all the members who offered encouragement along the way seems like not long ago I was here asking for straight line backing advice in CDL school. Have a blessed day and stay positive see you on the road.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
