I studied each section all last night and double studied the HAZMAT while waiting at the DMV and passed them all the first time. I did not add them to my permit. I'm going to just wait and have them put on to my license once I get through school. I also need to pay for the HAZMAT background check and wait for the clearance. I may go ahead and apply for my TWIC when I'm at the office.
The practice tests on here were a great confidence booster and helped a lot.
Now to hunker down on my pre-trip and go into school Monday and start out on the lot with the trucks.
In the mean time, I've been watching youtube videos on log books, coupling and uncoupling, sliding rear tandems and moving the fifth wheel.
I should have my license by the first week of December if I can get used to the backing.
Wish me luck.
G'luck. But with that kind of drive, you'll be fine. Luck won't help. Attitude and drive will.

A set of axles spaced close together, legally defined as more than 40 and less than 96 inches apart by the USDOT. Drivers tend to refer to the tandem axles on their trailer as just "tandems". You might hear a driver say, "I'm 400 pounds overweight on my tandems", referring to his trailer tandems, not his tractor tandems. Tractor tandems are generally just referred to as "drives" which is short for "drive axles".
