Started our maiden voyage to NM from AZ last night around 1130pm. Got the load info at 7pm pre tripped n pre planned n hooked up empty by 930pm then sat at terminal till 1015pm waiting for the release of our empty trailer. Reminded me a lot of my Army days... Hurry up and wait!! Pulled over for the night around 330am... Bunk was .... Cozy... Good thing I like to spoon!! I drove all day, and it was glorious!!!! Taking our 30 now and ready to drop our first load. SUCESS!!

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Thank you very much!!! Our fleet manager seems great as well as the night shift dispatcher! Got another load to take to Oklahoma City .... We're cookin now!

Dispatcher:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Yeah all the fleet managers I've talked to have been pretty cool. Some of of the night and weekend people are good, many aren't. Problem there is you never know which ones you're going to get.

Sounds y'all are doing great so far! Keep it up!
