I'm looking to become and o/o and was wondering if anybody knows of any electronic logging devices that are good for 1 truck businesses. The company I'm with know has zonar and it's pretty good. Does anybody have any eld they can suggest for o/o's

Most of the time you will use the company logger in your truck. But this is a very simple one if you must provide your own. You can also use it without a monthly fee if you use the USB instead of the cellular portion of it.

Now I must say that I have not used this but in researching for our company it looks really simple to operate.

I have heard rand McNally advertising an elog solution on the radio. It plus into the diagnostic port on your truck and lets you use your smart phone and your elog device. It is supposed to be compliant with the new regs.

I don't have any idea how good it is, but you could definitely look into it and see how it is.

Electronic Logbook

A device which records the amount of time a vehicle has been driven. If the vehicle is not being driven, the operator will manually input whether or not he/she is on duty or not.
