Hello ladies!

I am a Woman of a Certain Age, okay, I'm 58. I'm about to start schooling at C.R.England and I am both excited and nervous.

Do any of you have any tips, suggestions, advice, or just anything you want to say to let me know what to expect. I would love it if you would share your experience, especially if you attended school recently.

Thanks! Looking forward to it!

Hi Moziere; I expect to start England after the 18th, when an old accident falls off my MVR. What location are you at, just out of curiosity? I expect to be in NC, but I am aiming for Salt Lake, if they'll allow it. My one experience prior to England was at Celadon (you can read about THAT in the General Discussions, posted this morning) and my only advice is to get started now, this moment, on your pre-trip. If time has eroded your memorizing capabilities as it has done mine (I'm 48) start working on pneumonics or whatever aids you might use to make the memorization easier. I came to this without any knowledge of engines or mechanics so I was at a bit of a disadvantage. If we don't speak again, I wish you the best and hope for the same. Cheers!

MVR:

Motor Vehicle Record

An MVR is a report of your driving history, as reported from your state Department of Motor Vehicles. Information on this report may include Drivers License information, point history, violations, convictions, and license status on your driving record.

I am going to Salt Lake City, I'm not looking forward to the cold.

I have been studying the Trucker Program here on this site. I want to know as much as possible before I get there. I do not remember as much as I used to, so I'm sure I'll have to study just a bit harder than I used to. I've already started with the memory tricks. There are 7 cdl endorsements, one for every day of the week. LOL

Good luck with getting the school you want.

  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
