This sounds as though it may be a scam. However, I do want to know if anyone out there has heard of Alliance Trucker. I'll post links for you to view.

I have tried searching through BBB, DOT , NHTSB, SCDOT as well as Trucker's Forum and company reviews through Yahoo and Google and have come up with nothing independent of their company website which would allow me to verify this company even exists. Anyone ever heard of them?

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

Hey Jamie!

I looked over your links and this appears to be a scam.

First let me explain. I have a "hobby" that involves interacting with scammers to the point of undermining their efforts and wasting their time and resources. I have been doing this for some years now. I'm sure everyone here has either seen, heard about, or even received an email promising millions of dollars; primarily originating from West Africa, but they can really come from anywhere. It's known as a 419 scam, or advanced-fee fraud.

Well, right off the bat, my gut feeling is this is a scam, or advanced-fee fraud. They promise you something 'wonderful' but you must pay a fee to get it. In the end, after countless fees you end up with nothing. Some of the reasons that make me think this is a scam is that all the pictures are Photoshopped. The logos on the trucks were added after the fact. The registration page that collects your sensitive information as well as your credit card information is NOT encrypted. The real big one is all the searching you did, you came up with zero evidence.

The anti-scam group I am affiliated with has the ability to shut down fraudulent web sites. Now I could submit all this information to the site killers in my group, but I could also use one of my many baiting aliases to "sign up" on their web site and see where it goes. Either way, the site killers are going to hear about it and they will be able to determine if this is, in fact, a legitimate site or not. And if it isn't, it will get shut down.

BMI:

Body mass index (BMI)

BMI is a formula that uses weight and height to estimate body fat. For most people, BMI provides a reasonable estimate of body fat. The BMI's biggest weakness is that it doesn't consider individual factors such as bone or muscle mass. BMI may:

  • Underestimate body fat for older adults or other people with low muscle mass
  • Overestimate body fat for people who are very muscular and physically fit

It's quite common, especially for men, to fall into the "overweight" category if you happen to be stronger than average. If you're pretty strong but in good shape then pay no attention.
