I have driven an automatic since upgrading, and I love it. I had an International and now am driving a Freightliner. I have never had issues backing. You just have to have an easy foot.

This. If anyone knows a way to mechanically disable creep mode from activating, please speak up. I hate it with a passion! I'd rather control my own speed (usually about 1mph if that) while I'm backing.

I hope automated trucks never replace truck drivers and automatic transmissions never replace manual ones.

I drove 2 different automatic Pete's that didn't have creep mode, so I guess the best way to disable creep mode is drive a Pete, or get a manual! Lol

Creep mode hasn't engaged while I am backing. Not sure what to tell you...

It wouldn't engage before I got a PM but it does now. I have to tell at her to "cut that **** out!"

My first truck was a manual, and I had it for a good 6-8 months before getting my current truck which is an auto. NO COMPARISON ! It makes Cabbage, Grapevine, and 70 (East of Denver) a cake walk ! Yes, your right hand and left foot get bored, but I'll take the trade off.
