Apu Down!

I know that anytime my APU has been down Prime has offered to put me in a hotel and they pay for it. You may just need to get with your FM and see if that is an option.

Having an APU helps save money in fuel costs and saves wear and tear on the main engine, though they tend to be expensive to install and maintain. Therefore only a very small percentage of the trucks on the road today come equipped with an APU.
You can turn on the cruise control to make the truck fast idle at 750 or 800 rpm. That will usually override the auto shutoff.
It's hot and you need sleep. If the fast idle doesn't work, I would talk to your FM about getting a hotel (if you're company). Also, there are rigmaster shops some places. Try calling Roadside to see if you're near one or will be passing near one. There's a great place in Houston that can fix any APU , for example.

Apu is down, not sure when it'll get fixed. It's a rigmaster, so not much can be done unless I get to a prime yard.
My question is, how do you over ride the 5 min idle? Its a 2015 freightliner, and all I know is, I didn't sleep well last night and now I gotta some how sleep later tonight. Or the next few days for that matter. I hate to idle but I can't sleep sweating or just hot in general.
