Hey there everyone. "Sam" here, I started ATDS this Monday. I obtained my CLP Last week so I got got to skip a week of school! They put me in a truck straight line backing and learning to shift the first day. I'm having A blast! This is the most fun I've ever had in the hot Texas sun! I love it. I'm picking everything up like it's second nature. Mr. James the lead instructor is the best. Any question or concern He's right there with help and solutions. I'm still working on not Pressing the clutch into the clutch-brake to shift but, I'll get it. I hear "Off the clutch" in my sleep. I do the happy happy joy joy dance everyday. I'm learning so much and loving every minute of it. I'm set to take my test and graduate on Oct. 4th. I go to USA Trucking after that. I wish I had done this 35 years ago! Sam Mommalaw to my kids.

CLP:

Commercial Learner's Permit

Before getting their CDL, commercial drivers will receive their commercial learner's permit (CLP) upon passing the written portion of the CDL exam. They will not have to retake the written exam to get their CDL.
