Time to start a new chapter in my life, professional delivery in a big rig. I was picked up by CR England yesterday and after a nearly hour long phone conversation of talking to two different recruiters I was told that I will be attending CDL school in Salt Lake City, Utah starting this Monday. I've picked up my greyhound ticket and am due to leave the state of Kansas on Saturday right around 1400 with my eta in Salt Lake City standing at roughly 1130 on Sunday. Wish me the best of luck for I am sure to need it. Won't lie though I am extremely excited and wish it was already Monday and I was in class. smile.gif

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Congratulations and good luck!!

I too am leaving Friday and arriving on Sunday (assuming I'm traveling by Greyhound and not flying) But I'm headed to Missoula MT!
