Passed all my test last week, all endorsements , been driving this past week but, having problems with the down shifting. I am also a bundle nerves when my time to drive. First time driving in town or open road had alot of mistakes. I hope I get better soon only have next week and then testing the next. Got to come together soon. Good news is my alley docking has been good put it in the hole without any pull ups twice Thursday. We started yard work last Monday. We drive half the day and back the other half. Instructor is real good could not ask for any better and the best thing he really cares about the students can't say enough. I really need some confidence.

TWIC:

Transportation Worker Identification Credential

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.

Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

I'm in my first week, yes, we are having problems with shifting too, we're new to these. Hopefully your trainer can take you aside for a few minutes and let you practice shifting with the truck off, they said do the Adams family song thing, I hate that show so it won't work for me. Speak up, tell them you are having problems. It will click, I did so much better after a trainer came into the truck with me, I wasn't perfect but you will get it. I had a easier time straight backing with a trailer, and I never even back my pickup up. Keep on trucking! You've come this far!

The shifting just takes practice...sit in a chair...and practice....see the movements in your mind...don't slap the clutch to the floor...it just needs to be pushed far enough to disengage..no further....but you will get it....it just takes practice !!!!!!
