Well getting ready for a career change, going to a private cdl driving school that's about 20 minutes away. Only driving experience is with fire dept trucks. Not worried about training more worried about getting on with a good truck company... Been researching for a couple of weeks. This is a great site!

time will tell...

  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.

That's great Shadow!

School is full of long days and hard work, but it is a BLAST! At least I enjoyed it.

As far as picking a good company, if you have been reading the forums here long you should realize that your success will have much more to do with you than the company you choose. Most of them are very similar. Just narrow down what is important to you like home time or type of freight etc and be prepared to ride out the ups and downs.

I've been solo for about 5 or 6 weeks, and like McDonald's says I'm loving it!

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
