Some companies will state no New York or no Northeast or no California and many will pay more for travel in those areas. But most all the majors will take you everywhere their are loads to pickup and deliver. Once you have been around a while you can request from your dispatcher to goto areas you would like to go. Good luck.

I’m currently in a private driving school and am looking to go otr after the holidays. Are all starter companies the same as far as the amount of travel? I am located on the east coast and would really like to be able to see as much of the country as I can as kind of a trade off for being away from home. If some companies travel wider which would be reconvened? Thanks!

Over The Road
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
