Hi I take invega every month and abilify and lamyctal and cymbalta every day. Can I get hired at a trucking company driving ? I still have My medical certificate.
I looked up your four medications. Two are antipsychotic and I'm not sure what FMCSA says about them.
Lamictal (lamotrigine) is an anti-epileptic medication, also called an anticonvulsant. My sister-in-law is on that and she had her driver's license pulled for her car driving. So, you need to talk with your doctor about your condition, the meds you are on and driving a big truck.

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
The CSA is a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) initiative to improve large truck and bus safety and ultimately reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities that are related to commercial motor vehicle
The FMCSA was established within the Department of Transportation on January 1, 2000. Their primary mission is to prevent commercial motor vehicle-related fatalities and injuries.
What Does The FMCSA Do?

James,
You have two threads going and this one relates to the hiring one.
Even if FMCSA/DOT approves your meds, a company can still turn you down for taking those same meds. It doesn't matter if your doctor and the feds approved them, a company's insurance can say no can do.
Are you still under treatment with your doctor? Have you talked with them about driving an 80,000 lb vehicle that has lots of physical and mental conditions? This is a stressful career and it could aggravate your condition.

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.
State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.
