One of the trainers, during orientation, told of his experience with his rear facing camera. He explain that he hated it. Flipped it off often, meaning, the one finger salute. Time went on, still hating the thing, and had an accident. It was fairly serious and was accused of being at fault. But with review of the video, it was determined that he was telling the truth and the ticket and fine was eventually removed, iirc. In the end, he came around 180° and is now in favor of them because of this incident.
I put up with it myself, knowing that it can be helpful in such a case. Of course, could prove otherwise, as well. With mine, if the company views you "live" it supposed to actually announce it. We're assured they will not use this feature, though.
Like I said, I put up with it, but I don't necessarily like it, either.
I would prefer not to have a rear facing camera.
