After 3 times,yes 3 times failing my cdl school test. I finally passed on my 4th time! After being over confident ( yes I know) and leading the class I soon became overwhelmed by small mistakes! But my goodness I finally made it!

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

That's one. In this down economy you should use the link below and apply everywhere. Many companies have cut their hiring way back and you will get many "No's".

I've included a couple other links that you should read also. It will help you understand better what the trucking world is about.

You betcha! If you have any questions after going through the links, just give a holler. I'm supposed to head to orientation this weekend, but where I'm at in South Central Idaho and the orientation is in Minnesota, I think the high winds and winter storm warnings is going to keep me sidelined for another week, so I will check back in a couple days and see if you have any questions.
