I'm a magazine writer at work on a story about underground storage facilities used by truckers, like Americold (Carthage), Springfield Underground, and SubTropolis in Kansas/Missouri. I'm hoping to do a ride along with a driver who frequents these caves. Not an investigative, ball-busting piece--more of a general-interest story about how Americans live and work underground, told by people who actually spend time down there.
Good chat and trucker stories are of course welcome. Puns about caves should be avoided, though I understand if it's a hazard of the job.
If you drive these caves, or know someone who does, and are as vain as me and like to see your name in print, email me at chandlerf10@gmail.com. The story is for County Highway, a new American magazine.
