I've been away for awhile, but thought I would check in to see what feedback I could get.
Been with a couple local, smaller companies near where I bought a house a few years ago. After 4 years with Prime Inc. I was not used to running older trucks that break down frequently, which is what my last and current company are running. I was with my last company for 2 years and this one for a year. My first truck here had 650,000 miles with no air ride and broke down twice. My newer truck has 424,000 miles with air ride, thank God, just broke down and they wanted me to run a truck with 767,000 miles on it, no air ride, seat felt like a cement block. I told them no
So I am home and truck is going in the shop. They have no concern for a driver's comfort, as the safety guy has informed me.
Guess I'm a Diva. Ready to give up the 2,000 miles a week, Sundays off and crappy trucks to close up the house and hit the road again for 3,000 mile weeks and more comfort, less breakdowns.
I have no family, no pets, I'm single and have great neighbors who get my mail and watch my house when I'm gone.
Hummer sounded good. Currently at 64 cpm.
Any other suggestions? I live in Northwest Ohio.
CPM:
Cents Per Mile
Drivers are often paid by the mile and it's given in cents per mile, or cpm.
TWIC:
Transportation Worker Identification Credential
Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
