Hello I have been accepted at almost every school that offers a cdl. I will start prime at the end of this year. I have been out of work for 6 months now(just found a factory job). And I think if you talk with a recruiter enough she will try to help you get in cuz that's what they do. They company cdl schools are mainly looking at MVR Health and criminal background. My cusion got into CRE and he had 2 Misdemeanors and he got in and that kid never had a job in his life.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
An MVR is a report of your driving history, as reported from your state Department of Motor Vehicles. Information on this report may include Drivers License information, point history, violations, convictions, and license status on your driving record.
Nomad girl...ya just apply at all of them !!!! then you weed out what you don't want to do, where to go, freight lanes, and company benefits.

Hey folks. I was curious to know how to go about getting pre-hire letters. Who to speak to, what to say/ask, how to obtain the letter, and how to go about using it after graduating with CDL.
Also, I was unemployed and had a couple of part-time jobs in the past three years -- the main reason why I left was because one didn't have enough work while I left another because of the unsteady shift hours coupled with a minimum wage salary. I was wondering if this is something I could discuss with the recruiter over the phone to let them understand my situation and not see me as a risk. I have been looking for full-time employment, but all I've been able to get are part-time jobs. Though it would make sense to stay with an employer for a little bit longer to show stability, I rather find a job that I know I will enjoy that'll provide with with the hours and pay I desire. It's hard to get that across in my application so I feel like I have to at least talk to somebody in the company who could help move my application for consideration. Is this possible?

What Exactly Is A Pre-Hire Letter?
Pre-hire letters are acceptance letters from trucking companies to students, or even potential students, to verify placement. The trucking companies are saying in writing that the student, or potential student, appears to meet the company's minimum hiring requirements and is welcome to attend their orientation at the company’s expense once he or she graduates from truck driving school and has their CDL in hand.
We have an excellent article that will help you Understand The Pre-Hire Process.
A Pre-Hire Letter Is Not A Guarantee Of Employment
The people that receive a pre-hire letter are people who meet the company's minimum hiring requirements, but it is not an employment contract. It is an invitation to orientation, and the orientation itself is a prerequisite to employment.
During the orientation you will get a physical, drug screen, and background check done. These and other qualifications must be met before someone in orientation is officially hired.
