I am still pretty new to the industry (about 6 months) I love my job and I have been told I am doing well. I would just like some input and thoughts on attire. I believe in being safe and professional, but when you are on the road for hours it is also important to be comfortable. I have seen a lot of different attire out there, as I am sure all of you have. This time of year, I am comfortable in shorts and a T-shirt with running shoes. Is this "acceptable". It doesn't have to mean I look like I am ready to hit the gym. I have jean shorts and ****ies has shorts that look professional. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You can be in casual clothing while still looking professional. I often wear shorts and a T and my Steele toes.. So long as the T's don't have anything offensive or looks like you used it as a rag, napkin, you'll be fine.. I've ran a few times in my drawers and T. But when at shipper or receiver, then shorts/pants and a T..

I'm sure you've seen a few drivers that just don't care.. those driver are what set the rest of us apart.

Whatever you wear, please, for the love of God, make sure it fits. There is nothing more disgusting than seeing some guy waddling across a truck stop with the lower third of his gut hanging out of the bottom of his shirt.

Actually, I take that back. There is one thing more disgusting. Guys whose pants won't stay up. I'm not talking about the kids who deliberately belt their pants down under their ass (although that's gross too), I'm talking about the guys who don't even bother with a belt and just let their pants slither further and further south with every step. Don't be that guy. Buy a belt and cinch it properly to keep your pants where they belong.
