I need to find a companey that will hire me , and train me to get my CDL. I went with P@@@@ and I was not pleased with thier training. I was out with a trainer for a month where I drove thier truck , and they got paid for the miles that I drove ,and since I was in training, I did not get paid anything. I went back to thier yard for trying to get enough training in backing for my CDL exam along with 30 other drivers . I was not able to learn how to do the backing in order to get my CDL.. I want to go somewhere that will train me first and then put me out on the road and pay me as I drive. Please help

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

I learned the basics of backing playing this computer game before I started driving.

Who is P@@@@? Never heard of that company. Only two companies that start with a "P" I can think of off hand and one of them does not train at all. So I would like to know the name of the company cause that will be very important as to the advice that is given.

Start with the Trucking Truth link to schools: Truck Driving Schools and Truck Driving Jobs, at least until you get more responses on here, from guys who have more experience.

From what I've been reading prime offers $600 a week minimum while training so that doesn't seem bad. Was it them? I ask because I am looking into going to prime for training...
