Tell me you got some detention pay for all that waiting Doug.

OH YEAH!! Would not let them get away without detention pay. My company is pretty good about that.

I think the dispatch did ya the bad deal...I always demanded the receivers phone number, and we dealt with them personally. you'd be suprised what you can get done that way...

I thought so too about dispatch. Turns out that Safeway is just that way. Talked to other drivers that were there and it is ALWAYS a re pain in the butt. The phone call would work but not with Safeway, in Tracey Ca anyway. If a driver calls them all you get is delayed more. It all worked out ok. Got detention pay and a rest. The next load was to Dallas Tx so I was a happy driver :)

Ouch that sucks. I've had times like that, get there early and you're told they can't take you. Some do, some won't. It just depends. And if you're waiting on home time afterwards, that makes it even better. Just makes the anticipation that much more...anticipatey...or something like that.

I stay away from that Safeway... Nothing but rude workers there. I'll take a load in so long as its a drop n hook.. It's not worth the time or effort to deal with them there. They won't even let us take our own MT's out even when we are instructed too. I've had to "red" tag a few. only way to get em out. lol
