Also, spent some time in Lewiston couple years ago. Did quite a bit of camping around there. Idaho is on my list of retirement states. Want a cabin out in the boonies, little garden maybe some chickens oh yeah! Do you love it there?

Was this post intended for me? If so I can answer a few questions about employment gaps but I can only speak from my own experiences. Before I got into trucking in 2011 with CR England I had multiple employment gaps but I filled them in. I simply put the dates I was unemployed and why I was unemployed. I was lucky enough to be able to claim either the job was a Temp, Laid Off, Unemployment or just Seasonal. I know Knight Transportation is very picky about New Hires especially drivers with no Experience but if you word it right I believe you can work it into your favor. Don't get me wrong, I didn't lie, I was honest about my employment to a certain extent. They only verify your employment dates if you employed and they don't ask if you quit or got fired. Honestly I don't even think they would have cared about my employment history because my Record was so clean, the Recruiter even got back to me when they ran everything and told me he was shocked that it's spotless. No criminal history and negative driving history. I worked in Sales as a Financial Manager so I understood how to sell myself and you really have to self yourself to a Recruiter and they will almost be willing to overlook most things.

You asked about Idaho and I will have to admit I love it here. If you're an outdoors type of a person you'll like Idaho. Purchasing property in Idaho is not Cheap, its very overpriced and I believe its because of Federal Regulations. The Federal Government owns about half of the State and they restrict private ownership and development. That State filed a Lawsuit and is in the process of getting most of the Land back but camping is great, there are many lakes, rivers and mountains to explore. Salmon fishing is Awesome, Fly Fishing is very Fun and people from all over the World come to fish for Rainbow Trout because we have some of the biggest in the World.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

See? Lol I knew you had much much more to say! Thank you so much for taking the time to reply in more detail. I was concerned for Bam Bam because I believe she may already have signed a contract. Also I eyeball your posts all the time, not just for your knowledge but because of my interest in Idaho!!! Going to look at that link now. Not encouraged now tho :(

Also, I have a gap the last four years so that was very helpful to me personally. Thank you again

I had a pretty long gap of about 6 months and I put unemployed but I told them I moonlighted for a friend or myself. If you do something like that just be prepared to answer questions as to what you were doing. I told them I either did curbing, masonry or construction work all under the table to avoid taxes.

Don't be discouraged about Idaho, you can still find good deals. I myself have a dream of owning a Cabin up North towards Coeur d'Alene. Property up there is pretty reasonable.

I was on my way to Arkansas actually. Had not seen family in a bit so off to AZ to visit my sis. Then up to Washington to see my folks. Passed through Idaho decided to check it out. Really enjoyed it, ended up here though, have regretted it ever since. So if Idaho becomes a bust I always have Alaska!
