I've read some not-so-glowing reports on the Kenworth T2000 (used by one of the companies I'm considering), especially about cab noise. Anybody here driven a late model T2000? If so, in your opinion how does it compare to other tractors you've driven?

I drove a 09' when I first started with Swift. I enjoyed the truck very much. Bunk space was larger than the newer volvo's (which I traded into) I didn't have any complaints with the truck while I drive it.

Thanks for the reply David. I wasn't sure of the model year I read about but I kind of inferred it was earlier than the current models out. Good to hear you had no major issues.

The only thing I know about them was the one I saw around Kingman AZ...it had rear-ended another truck....The front of it back to the sleeper looked like a bomb went off from the inside out..and he didn't even hit the trailer real hard...weird...

The early KW's and Pete's were known for their road noise while going down the road to their lack of insulation in the floor and their thin doors. Its gotten better over the years.

Thanks for the replies. Hopefully I can get a chance to check one out personally before decision time comes.

An old friend of mine used to drive one at Central, and he liked it a lot. He said it had a lot of cabin room and it wasn't too loud when he drove on the freeway. However, he did like to listen to his music really loud, so that may be why he didn't hear too much freeway noise. Come to think of it, I seem to remember I would have my music blasting more times than not cruising down the open highway...
