What companies take you with a permit from your home state and do they get you to your home state to take your driving test and if so what if the state has a part of the road test you didn't practice like the dackwards serpentine
Scott, it's not so much the company and the location of the school(s). The details in the schools part of TT will help. Swift has a breakdown of what's required at each of its schools: TX, VA, TN, ID. In know VA and TN locations have you bring your state permit and then you return to your home state to road test. TX is one that requires you permit in TX; thus you'd transfer your CDL in your home state.
As far as differences in the skills test; verify with your state what's required and "beg" some practice at the school range. If you mean left and right cross over backing, that's covered in the schools I've heard anything about.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).
It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.
Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.
