Hey waterboy I am going to be at the yard on the 23rd. My team driver and I are splitting since he wants to take his children on the road with him for a few weeks. So I'll be there to pick up my first truck. I'm pretty stoked.

I'll be there on the 22nd but I'm a total rookie. No experience and no clue what to expect other than what I read. Hoping it's gonna be nice, I plan on doing OTR for a year or longer depending on how I like it and then find a local job.

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

I'm leaving from California tomorrow on the 19th and should be there by Sunday on the 21st. All packed up and ready. I'm going to have a good night tonight with some friends and start the journey tomorrow. I've never been in a truck but I use to drive tanks for the Army, haha. This should be a interesting trip, I hope everything turns out positive seeing how I'm leaving home and taking a huge risk on this. I figure a one year commitment should not be too terrible, challenging yes but not terrible.

I'm hoping I get a good trainer, I'm really worried about that part but I'm going to put my faith in life and in the gods of the road.

My dog ride isn't as far. I will arrive in MO about 1pm on Sunday. See you all there.
