Does anybody know if having had heart valve replacement surgery (aortic) is a reason for being disqualified or failing your physical. I had mine nearly 5 years ago and have been in perfect health since. I haven't even seen a cardiologist since then and I'm not taking any medication for it. Maybe it's something I shouldn't even mention when having the physical. I am new and I am planning on attending CDL school in the Chicago area next month and will be scheduling a physical at that time.
i don't know the rules on this but i generally play a don't ask don't tell policy. if they don't ask you about it or anything related to it, don't mention it.
I'm placing my bets that they'll ask if you have or have had any heart conditions (feel free to change those last 2 words to any condition you can think of :) ) At which point saying no would be a lie and then put you in big trouble if they found out it was a lie. In that case being honest could be better.
