Come on Guy's and help a Fella out, is the Best route to do I-80 to I-5 to get from Western WY to LA? Just wondering because I have read so many tails on here about the importance of Trip Planning and just wondering if I am getting a picture of routing a run or if it's best to stay on the major Interstates. Haven't been to Sin City road tripping since the mid 80"s but would think they have some kind of Loop to blow around that mess.

Interstate:

Commercial trade, business, movement of goods or money, or transportation from one state to another, regulated by the Federal Department Of Transportation (DOT).

Gotta go to Sacramento first. My routings not so much an issue as timing. The hours I have to work with. And where to park when I get to LA. Put in a running late and repower request. The load was initially assigned late from the get go. The dead line for departure was from Storm Lake, IA at 12:50 pm 07/15. I was in Hopkins, MN at 11:00 am when they gave me the load (227mi) and said don't worry about the DLD. Just go get it and roll after my 10 hr break. I'm figuring make the 49er in Sacramento the afternoon of the 19th then receiver in Sacramento next am and receiver in Stockton after that then head as far toward LA as I can with remaining hours on the 20th. Make LA the 21st.

49er costs money for parking. If you'd like I can tell you a bunch of places you can park your truck at to save that money. I'm a local fuel driver in Sacramento I know all the roads.

You can throw them out there if you'd like and I'd appreciate it a bunch. Maybe use them another time or this time. Had already anticipated the pay to park. Might enjoy a hot meal outside the truck since it's payday. Save a bunch not eating at truck stops now but a sit down meal once a week is a treat.

That 49er one is a bit of a hoot. I got stuck there waiting for Donner to open on Thanksgiving and they let all the drivers leave free! That was my first experience in a paid lot and I had no idea you could buy stuff to cover it(and frankly, I don't even know if they allow it there) so I was all set to pay it. Always nice to get headed towards Donner in the winter with a smile on your face!
