I am so ready for this thread to die and never come back to life. If you use illegal drugs then stay the hell out of my industry. Don't need you killing me or my family.

If your concerned about your privacy, modesty or any other long word that ends in "Y" and it describes anything you might be offended at then come no further.

Urine test, blood test and hair test are the new waves of the future and either live with it or don't come near trucking. If you have used or even think you might have used drugs in the last 90 days then wait for it to clear your system. Pretty simple I would think but people still show up and fail drug test all the time.

Calm down don't get your panties in a bunch . There are plenty other threads I can direct you to instead of waiting for the death of this one .

but Guy is right that if you have to worry about passing a drug test it means you have been using recently. I know i do not want to be anywhere near anyone who has been doing drugs much less them driving an 80000 pound truck.

I agree , and can pass hair or urine . But asking a question doesn't prove guilt . There are many reasons one could have for asking such a question . So there's no reason to stop the spreading of information some here may deem relevant with the stay out my Industry crap . I don't do drugs but know there is a fine line between prescription drugs that kill more people then illegal drugs , but that's another conversation .

...and alcohol doesn't show up in a UA or hair follicle test if it's been out of your system for a while even though it's just as bad as any other substance. But it's so widely accepted, that many hardly recognize it as a problem in trucking.

I'm going to 2 funerals this weekend from a single accident involving 4 drunk teens, a single car, and a tree. Use of any substance should not be combined with operating a vehicle.

It happened last Sunday night. So ...darned ...sad.

Anyone know if USX does both hair and urine? I accidentally took a Vicodin that I was originally told was a Tylenol by a family member about a month and a half ago and I am a bit nervous. I am not a junkie or anything I don't do drug and I am pretty enraged about the whole thing but i guess things happen. Thanks.

Oh, that would tick me off, big time. I don't know if that would show up in a hair follicle test but I might even consider a consultation with my doctor, see if he can provide you a note explaining, or at least find out if that kind of thing will show up. Maybe it's a non-issue but I sure wouldn't want to find out the hard way.

After much research I am pretty sure it will show up in hair as taking an opiate. I can find info for a lot of other companies, but it would seem that info on how US Xpress does testing is pretty scarce. For the most part the things I have found online say they only do a urine test. The sources I have found these answers don't seem very reliable though (youtube video comments from 2013, and a very sketchy looking website). So if there are any drivers for US Xpress out there that have recently started with the company that know I would really like to know, because I am pretty much looking at getting this job or being homeless soon. Thanks.

P.S. I am pretty out of it, can't sleep too much on my mind, sorry if my post doesn't make too much sense.

What testing does Con-Way and FFE do?

-Jerry

Con-way Freight only tested using urinalysis, as of July 2014.

I found out today that Con-Way does the follicle test.

-Rico

Con-way Freight did not test me using follicle during pre-employment. I don't know if they test differently once you've been employed with them for a while.

This thread is so burned out I hate adding to it but since there are so many posts it's difficult to find the answer so I have to ask.

What SCHEDULE or Class is screened for with the hair test. May be easier for people to research on their own where they fit just by looking up the schedule their drug fits into once they know what classes the hair test screens for.

(Schedule 1 and 2 are a given-The hair test will check for all of these.

I'm assuming schedule 3 is included in the test as well since these are very habit forming.

How bout schedule 4? Schedule 4 is stuff like alprolozam (xanax) which are not as serious as schedule 3

I smoked weed for 35 years and stopped. I have done no other illegal substances. I know this will be hard for many of you to believe, but it is true. I have no reason to lie. In the event this leaks out I will notify my attorney and proceed to file a lawsuit against 'you' the tattle tale or whoever. Winning a law suit does not matter; you will be drained of money defending yourself in the process. So please read with compassion not aggression. I am sharing my exsperiance so others can see that we really can change and want to do what is right. I do not want to put my employer or anyone around me at risk so I quit the weed so I can pull freight.

I stopped smoking and a week later I notified the Truck Driving School that I want to become a truck driver and pull freight all over America. I told a official from that school that I was a weed smoker but have stopped and will remain clean till I retire in around fifteen years. They calculated the timeline of when my body should be clear and the time I am required to provide a sample of urine. I have tested myself in the process and my first test can up +. That was expected. The school wants my money and will hold off getting me tested as long as they can. I asked them to hold off for two weeks into my training and things should be clear. I am going to test myself a week into the training and convey that info to the school to show where I stand. I am positive (I have taken a million URs' in my day) that my second home test will be clean. As for my hair! Once I am clean in the urine, I will then let my hair grow out. I have shaved all "All" of my hair off my body. This will insure that my new growth has a better chance of being clean of the weed. There is no law saying you can't shave the hair off of your body. I know plenty of folks who do it, and not for reasons that I am. We are in the older ages anyway; which for many of us we don't have a lot.

The folks at my school are awesome and trust us folks that want to do what is right. We should not be ousted of the industry for trying to make good. I believe that we should be given a chance! If we break that chance then give us the noose. I have read all of the comments and and see things from both sides. I am just an American trying to get through this maze of hell created by our insurance companies who don't care about the individual. Where one fails, one hundred will pass. So they don't care. It's numbers for them. I could go all day with this but will stop here. I am going to post here in 30 days to let you all know about my journey. After school I think I am going to haul Xmas trees for a bit before I go for the big leagues. I like what Schnider has to offer, but many others are doing right by their drivers. I have time to decide.

All men and women should have a chance to prove themselves in the trucking industry. Even in the Military they give you a chance to prove yourself. To just say NO to a new driver because of a test gone wrong and stop a possible career is stupid. You don't have to have drugs in your system to get into an accident. Accidents aren't biased. Too many variables are involved.

Wish me luck!

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Good Luck, Mike! If you're willing to give it up for a career in trucking, you should be allowed every chance possible to succeed. No one judges anyone here.
