Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall ?

Love how you put that, Bud. Thanks. Great avatar Rolling Thunder, LOL!

I will just keep in mind that they had to do it, too. I guess I will take as long as I have to, as long as I don't hit a thing. Sad that some of those like to mess with your mind and career that way :(

DOT Drug Testing: Urinalysis or Hair Follicle?

If you've honestly been clean for a year or more, it's not going to come up on the UA. I do know they do random drug testing, so I would advise you to stay clean ;) ... but I'm sure asking your recruiter about the drug test, will most certainly get you tested, lol. I know there are far more experienced drivers on this forum to help you out, but I'm pretty sure you're safe for a clean year.

2 Days Before the Day After Tomorrow

Hey! Welcome man!

I honestly did the same thing, along with a couple YouTube videos xD .. Read some of the CDL training diaries and blogs, too. They're really interesting!

I think most companies look back 90 days, if they hair test you. If you're going to do a UA, you should be fine...after a full year.

Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall ?

I think that is the ONLY thing that will bother me. Having multiple truckers watch you trying to back, then rushing or giving dirty looks, instead of helping. They had to go through the same thing!

How do most of you deal with it? I'm assuming by ignoring them completely?

Trainer drivers

Lmao!! That is pretty funny. I didn't think about those that don't shower. Yeah, I keep reading so many stories about trainers. I tend to get along with everyone, but I have no idea how bad it can really get. As long as I'm trained right and he/she stops to use restrooms here and there, I'll be goooood.

Anyway, congrats man! Just remain as positive as you can, lol.

Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall ?

Great post and question. I've thought about it, too. I rather be with the trainer during the winter for that reason, though. Being from Florida, I've seen snow like...once in my entire life, so I rather get familiar with the conditions and even knowing when it's not safe to drive through them. Hopefully it's a good and safe trainer is all! I don't want to find out when I'm solo D:

WHERE CAN I GO?

Yep, every company I've called wanted 1 year full license, no interruption. So, it doesn't really matter how 'minor' it is. I missed 1 month of child support :( and BAM! Suspended for only about 2 weeks. So, CRST, Prime, etc etc, all told me I had to wait until a full year has passed from that very date. I'm in the clear now, but yeah - seems like whatever it is, you need that 1 full year!

New Soon-to-be Driver

Woo! I've been accepted to Prime Inc!

Orientation starts in December, then class right after, so I'm pretty excited! It's a self-study (for the CDL), so I'm hitting the HIGH ROAD TRAINING program and the company's study guide together, bam bam! It's about 3 months with a trainer in the truck, so I'm definitely going to tell him I want to be backing the trailer as much as I can, when he feels OK with it anyway, lol.

Thanks for the help everyone :)

Thank you Woody! I missed them! I called and they have no sponsored training, but they do offer tuition reimbursement AND hire from my state :) good call!
