Questions about TMC??

There was a YouTuber who posted almost a full year of daily drives with TMC. He seemed to be home for a 34 hour reset 2 or 3 weekends every month. Not a full weekend mind you as he often got back in his truck Sunday afternoon.

Why paying truckers by the mile is unfair and dangerous

The guys in the glass buildings still get their yearly pay bump with their 6+ figure incomes but they do not pass it on to the people who make their company function.

LOL. If you think DMs and 95% of the people in those glass buildings make over a 100k you have a lot to learn about business.

Getting paid by miles or percentage makes sense. Incentive based. I followed a YouTuber that drove for TMC on percentage and he did very well for a first year driver. He was a bit manic and made so many classic errors that a lot of Vloggers make like dissing the con signees and pointing out illegal things on his truck though and he got his ass canned. He also lived 24/7 on Taco Bell and Subway so it was probably a good thing as the job would have killed him eventually. He made good money getting 31% of most loads because he hit mpg and other incentives. I was impressed that a first year driver would have made over 50k easy if he wasn't so stupid.

Getting paid by the hour encourages the lazy to be lazy. I am against it.

Taking a test tomorrow.

I thought you were under contract to Swift or am I confused. If so what would the payoff cost you?

I am poison to most trucking companies

Patrick,

With your penchant for being sick or injured and not lasting with any trucking company for more than two or three months I bet that most wouldn't hire you. I think you best option is to consider a career outside of trucking. For the sake of all of us here I hope you do.

And please remove the experienced driver tag from your profile. In the two years you have been yanking companies around with you workmans comp claims and bad attitude I don't think you have driven enough days to be considered experienced.

Western express lease purchase....thoughts???

Simple fact. If a company says you would make more money by leasing they are implying THEY will make less money by letting you do a lease. Do you really think a large corporation would offer you the ability to make them less money if they didn't have a good reason? Their shareholders would be up in arms. It is risk amelioration on their part and I strongly urge you to read The book "Against the Gods: The Remarkable Story of Risk". It will open your eyes.
