Hang in there fellow trucker. From what I have read, you have a rare quality, not found in much of the population today.

I CALL IT, "STICK-TO-IT-TIVENESS" SOME PEOPLE, MORE EDJUMICATED THAN Is BE, THAT CAN TALK BETTERER THAN I, CALL IT, "TENACITY". YOU STICK WITH IT AND YOU WILL ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS, BEST OF LUCK, BROTHER TRUCKER

Thank you Sir! I have to my new DBL on Monday. My driver number is now activated. Speaking of that -- your not a number, but family. The first thing they ask is, "what is your number?"

My new new home terminal or OC is in Indianapolis, Indiana. I am assuming they will want to be there to meet my co driver and get in our trucks and roll on.

I got to get a few more days with family! I

There are no intelegent life forms born North or East of California........Yeah I said it!!!

I am from the great communistic state of New Jersey🤓 Central Jurzee that is! The wonderful state where you need to obtain a handgun permit to buy a pellet gun😂 That wonderful state where you need to be making 90k a year just to have a comfortable family life, the wonderful state of the Jersey Shore. The state where everyone thinks they are better than the other, where there is no community, and everyone is always in such a rush they will take your head if if need be.

I had a stent in PA! Can't wait to go back! If I had my choice of where to go, Cody Wyoming -- that's where I'd want to call home!

Officially rehired

I know some of you been following my posts about quitting Schneider, and working with them to get rehired.

I made it to Carlisle last night to be told there was no reservation for me at the Sleep Inn. No biggie, I asked if I showed the my Sch rider fuel card if I could get the Schnrider rate. Yep, one night 36.99. Emailed my recruiter, and it will be in paycheck 3 or 4 down the line.

I had the worse night. I found not sleep at all. I payed down at 9 and kept thinking and thinking and thinking...I felt like I had surges of adrenaline every few minutes. Well, fell asleep. Think after 2:30am (last time I looked at clock), and my alarm goes off at. Headache and nauseous from lack of sleep. Spent 15 minutes committing noting but acid...yuck!

I got to my OC, and I was greeted with, why are you here? We have no spot for you. Your recruiter never confirmed. Huh? I called her Wednesday to double check everything. I told them about the hotel, and was afraid of this. Anyway, another driver being tested for an accident never showed up till 6 hours later. I got the spot. Did all my resting feeling horrible, fumbling through shifting, then it all clicked again. Passed my road test, airbrake a, pretrip, couple uncouple. Finished my paper work, took my trip plan test and workflow test, and passed. I am officially rehired. My OC might be changed to Indianapolis, but right now I am just waiting around to know what I am supposed to next. I was told I would be in my truck today, but apparently I might be headed back home and wait for my driver number to be reactivate... Playing by ear! Just flowing through which brings me to a great quote by Brett in another post that is very important:

"Most people that fail in their attempt at a trucking career were their own worst enemy and never figured that out. It's rarely the driving part that's a problem. Their attitude is what screwed it up for them and they never admitted to that so they never learned from it. They just blamed everyone else for their shortcomings and walked away bitter."

It's attitude attitude, attitude! Have a good one and you will be set!

Box truck

I don't know that one, but I'd call some brokerage firms if you need loads for your truck. I am not sure what your asking.

Starting at Schneider

Hi all you new driver recruits! I to was mind set on Scheider of until I came upon. ROEHL transport. I started there Oct. 26th. You stay at the beautiful comfort Suites in Conley, Ga.. You get a full breakfast free at the hotel along with excellent rooms. The Roehl van picks you up at 6:40 am and takes you to the terminal 10 miles away. They have an excellent orientation program and also start out at higher pay than Schiender. Prfessionalism and respect all the way. Great company to start with. You get issued almost new 2015+ 2016 trucks once you complete phase 2 of orientation. Program. I could not have found a more respectful company to become a team player with!!!! Alright look them up on their interest sight. Hell what do you have to lose!!!!!

Out of curiosityhow much does Roehl start you off at? Schneider had one account that wanted to start me off at .42a miles. The one I picked is .40 cents and the first account I was on was salary at 168 a day., that pay starts right after my three week orientation. It bumps up after 3 months, plus every quarter there is an easy .3 cent per mile on all miles bonus.

Another great thing about Schneider teams is you don't split pay. For instance, let's say another company was paying you .50 cents per mile per team. You actually only get paid .25 cents a mile. With Schneider I get paid .40 cents a mile and my co driver gets .40 cents a mile. I get paid for my logged mileage as he gets paid for his. This way I do t need to worry about him doing his part in miles. I like that a lot, it's like driving solo, but with a partner...lol You usually run 5-6 k miles a week, and the hauls are usuall 1100 miles, some longer, some less. That's sounds awfully good to me, just starting out.

Another newbie here wanting to become a truck driver

Your not really over weight... Schneider does not have a cdl training program. They used to a long time ago. You need to have your cdl on hand first. No mega carrier will allow you to use your own medical DOT, at least I know Schneider will not. You will have to get it done your first day there, and take an atlas pre work agility test. It is easy stuff, but they want your heart rate below 90% of your max for your age. Your blood pressure can't be high they check that too. If you need a sleep apnea test, they will help provide that I believe. I would suggest you getting your blood pressure in check first either way. Any questions let me know. I just went through Schneider orientation and am on a rehire there for the end of this week. Good luck!
