Second Chance, you have quite a story, and its not done yet. At this point, maybe you should call yourself "Makes It Happen".

Thank you Sir! I have to my new DBL on Monday. My driver number is now activated. Speaking of that -- your not a number, but family. The first thing they ask is, "what is your number?"
My new new home terminal or OC is in Indianapolis, Indiana. I am assuming they will want to be there to meet my co driver and get in our trucks and roll on.
I got to get a few more days with family! I
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
I just registered today. I've been looking through this forum for the 1st time. It's pretty awesome to find forum threads like this. You have a community here that you can be proud of.
I can't wait to call my DBL tomorrow

I know some of you been following my posts about quitting Schneider, and working with them to get rehired.
I made it to Carlisle last night to be told there was no reservation for me at the Sleep Inn. No biggie, I asked if I showed the my Sch rider fuel card if I could get the Schnrider rate. Yep, one night 36.99. Emailed my recruiter, and it will be in paycheck 3 or 4 down the line.
I had the worse night. I found not sleep at all. I payed down at 9 and kept thinking and thinking and thinking...I felt like I had surges of adrenaline every few minutes. Well, fell asleep. Think after 2:30am (last time I looked at clock), and my alarm goes off at. Headache and nauseous from lack of sleep. Spent 15 minutes committing noting but acid...yuck!
I got to my OC, and I was greeted with, why are you here? We have no spot for you. Your recruiter never confirmed. Huh? I called her Wednesday to double check everything. I told them about the hotel, and was afraid of this. Anyway, another driver being tested for an accident never showed up till 6 hours later. I got the spot. Did all my resting feeling horrible, fumbling through shifting, then it all clicked again. Passed my road test, airbrake a, pretrip, couple uncouple. Finished my paper work, took my trip plan test and workflow test, and passed. I am officially rehired. My OC might be changed to Indianapolis, but right now I am just waiting around to know what I am supposed to next. I was told I would be in my truck today, but apparently I might be headed back home and wait for my driver number to be reactivate... Playing by ear! Just flowing through which brings me to a great quote by Brett in another post that is very important:
"Most people that fail in their attempt at a trucking career were their own worst enemy and never figured that out. It's rarely the driving part that's a problem. Their attitude is what screwed it up for them and they never admitted to that so they never learned from it. They just blamed everyone else for their shortcomings and walked away bitter."
It's attitude attitude, attitude! Have a good one and you will be set!
Dm:
Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager
The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.DAC:
Drive-A-Check Report
A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).
It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.
Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.
