Got to my home terminal and I see multiple pallets 10 or so, of chef boyardees spaghetti and meatballs, take as much as we want. I got me six cases in my tractor, 12 cans per case.

Was told it came from one of our trailers that caught 🔥, have no idea how, but free food😁😁😁😁😁😁

I've been wondering about this topic too. One question not addressed already is how do you maintain an address if you're truly "homeless?" You have to have an address for a bank account, filing income taxes, credit card, voting, cell phone etc.

UPS stores show up as real addresses, and then forward mail to company terminal..

Odd question I know. I am wondering if anyone does not keep a house or apartment and just keeps traveling.

I will be moving out of my house in a few months and do not have a wife or kids.

To me it would be ideal to just stay on the road. If I had a week waiting for a load or something I would just enjoy the adventure of where I was at (if it was an adventurous place -haha) Or vise versa - if i needed to just keep working for weeks I could do that.

Taking a few days off I could stay in a hotel even upgrading it since I save money with no mortgage.

In my situation I could work for a few years and just save. I have no debt.

Might help the company since I would not really care where I was based out of…or not even having a base. To me it is time to work hard and save for retirement in 20 yrs.

Oddly it sounds perfect to/for me. I am not the type to get lonely (in fact prefer it), I do not mind small places like the sleeper (looks perfect to me). No family to visit at least not for more than a few days a couple times a year.

Store my F350 truck (4 wheeler) and my stuff in my cargo trailer, park it at my relatives farm so no worries about my stuff.

Roll for 10-15 years OTR....or whatever and just save my money

Anyways just a dream I have always had and soon will be free to pursue it.

Of course I would spend a couple of years (my early learning) making sure that is how I want to work.

I do not heard of many guys doing this so I thought I would ask in case I am missing something.

I did that my first year driving, then I got sick and spent 4 months in hospital and could not go back to driving right away. (Flesh eating bacteria left leg). So I was homeless and got the VA to help find housing, section 8, almost didn’t happen because I technically did not meet guidelines, now my lease ends Aug 1st and I will decide wether to do that again...

Sure, I been working for J.B. Hunt for about a year, I started making 2300 2500 miles a week and that was perfect for me, always on time, always ready for my next order before doing my 10 hr reset, but all of a sudden they started to cut miles to the drivers, so now I barely make 1600 to 1700 miles a week, I spoke with the manager about it but you know how that is, the answer was “ I’m gonna do my best, promise”, talking with other drivers they are in the same situation, this is for Amazon account, I asked for other accounts but are full, so I guess is time to move on

My company switched me from Amazon dedicated to OTR because They said Amazon lowered the pay rate per mile for there accounts to low for company to afford, and, in many conversations with Amazon personnel before switch, they are starting their own fleet, they are picking current employees to do to CDL school, and JB Hint I heard was suppose to be the mainstay to carry loads until that happens...

I agree with Chris, you can chock the wheels or if there's a curb handy that you can push the tandems up against to hold then in place. Obviously your brakes aren't holding but if you have automatic slack adjusters you can try bleeding down your brakes (doing a brake test) to adjust them to where they'll hold.

All the pins retract, I was able to chock the wheels with some rocks to get it legal, (don’t know why I didn’t think of this) picked up a load at a company terminal (think load was a local one dropped at terminal) that wasn’t scaled and it was on bills as over 45k lbs, i don’t scale most loads that I pick up and see loaded, this was neither, when I scaled it, it was 600 lbs over on the rear wheels of trailer, was able to adjust tandems and run legal, after live unload at 0100 it’s getting fixed one way or another.

The rocks I used are in my tractor for possible future use😜🤪😳😁

Thought the same thing, I’ve been to this TA a bunch of times, the difference is I went it the ghetto at the TA and went to the free spots instead of the paid spots like I usually do😄😁😂😳🤪🤪🤪

My company for solo drivers requires 9,500 miles a month to qualify for the bonus which usually ranges $450-550 as u go higher then that mileage, As long as u don’t have disqualifying safety violations, a preventable accident will disqualify u for 6 months..

I was wondering what other company’s have if any?
