Hello Everyone,
So I will be upfront and honest. I am switching careers from medical to OTR driving. I am an addict in recovery. I have been clean for awhile but worried about potentially not passing a fair follicle test. What companies offer just urine testing and CDL Training? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Disrespectful comments are not necessary as you don't know me or my life and I don't know you or your life. Thank you!
Michael-
Tons of other resources on here too while waiting on orientation or the DMV to open again, (like I am)

Prime Flatbed; Springfield, Missouri; Spring 2020
Good luck, I am hoping to join Prime in the reefer division. I have to wait until the DMV opens to get my CLP in Nevada, though.

This site has been talking about a freight slowdown. I can see that happening with cars, industrial, etc. since I am about to get my CDL, I wanted some perspective from y’all of what you think and see out there...

That’s great info, thank you!
I've gotten all of mine in under 10 days.
This was all "Pre-Covid19 Hysteria", though . It may take longer right now.

What does a quarantine due to coronavirus mean for truckers?
This is all a manufactured last ditch effort to get Trump out of office
This is my substitution for a tinfoil hat
TDS is a real thing. (Trump Derangement Syndrome)
Mainstream media has it, and has been proven time and time again for outright lying to the public.
Good info Brett.
At least with all the panic buying their is good freight to haul, still working on getting my stuff done so I can join in.

Hi all,
I am still in the process of getting everything together to apply. One of the things I did was request my copy from HireRight. I want to make sure my app reflects their data.
Any idea how long it takes to get the report back? ( I emailed them to ask, and I plan to call on Monday- but everything seems to be pretty shut down)
Thanks in advance for any info!

A general thank you to everyone
Hi Jenny,
I have not decided yet, keep us in the loop as your situation gets rolling!
Hi, Nice to meet you. I’ll be going to school too after covid19 settles down. The school wanted me in the February class but as I had things to settle 1st I waited. not sure now if that’s a good or bad thing but it is what it is and once things are back to normal will be on my way to Swift Academy. Where will you be going to school? this is a very exciting time. Good luck.
Hi- my name is Steve, and it’s possible that my 3rd career is going to be a truck driver. (Yup, old enough to have been edumacated in a cave, after walking uphill in the snow both ways)
I have been lurking and reading this forum for the last week, and it’s been invaluable.
I wanted to just take a moment to say thanks to everyone, and as I continue this journey, I’ll post and update to pay it back.

Have you considered Paid CDL Training Programs? They put you through schooling in exchange for working for them for a year. It's in our opinion the best way to enter the industry. Most people think going to private school will give them more choices but it really doesn't. Many companies can't hire new drivers due to insurance cost.
Hi Rob, I am actually considering the paid CDL training route. The preparations that I have begun before deciding are of course to read as much as possible in these forums, the online books by Brett (yup, that’s a shout out). There is a legal issue that I am dealing with, which I have reached out to recruiter directly to see if that’s an issue. Also, the Nevada DMV is shut down, which will impact getting the learner permit.
My plan is to use the paid CDL application route here, once a bit more of my research has been completed.
