Fellow Truckers,
I purchased a small trucking company located in Florida with a struggling safety record. I've taken all the steps to get things back on track but my insurance coverage thru Progressive is OUTRAGEOUS. Does anyone have any suggestions for other companies or strategies that can help me stay in business?
Haya Steve, and welcome to TT ~!!
Our mission is pretty much to help new/aspiring drivers go 'company training' route ... for starters. Many YEARS before even (and if so, why?) considering going into O/O territory.
In this 'state of the states' right now, you are in a tough place...and rates in Florida are always lower than other areas. You might find your questions best answered at OOIDA ... just Google it, and .. go from there. I'm thinking there's a nominal fee, but you'll find what you are looking for!
If you decide that O/O or L/P isn't for you.. stop back by and see what we can help you with, company'side.
Best wishes~!!

The mission of OOIDA is to serve owner-operators, small fleets and professional truckers; to work for a business climate where truckers are treated equally and fairly; to promote highway safety and responsibility among all highway users; and to promote a better business climate and efficiency for all truck operators.
