Kaliegh, I'm not sure I understood everything about being a week behind his trainer. But there is no rule that states that his trainer has to take home time at the same time as his student. I think most of them do work that out usually, so that they take home time at the same time, but there are no rules regarding this, at least not D.O.T. regulations. Companies can and often do have their own rules that they want you to go by, but it really should have no negative effect on your husband if his trainer decided to run solo while he was on his home time.
I think maybe you are saying your husband will be home for a week? That is a very lengthy home time, and I would be surprised if he got that much time at home while on a trainer's truck. I suspect your husbands trainer will take some home time also, unless he lives very far away from where you guys live.
Can you clarify what you mean by being behind his trainer? And who are you referring to when you state that he will be "a week without a partner"?
No, you did misunderstand me. He is not with a trainer... He has already completed his driver training with them. However in FL they have to do 16 weeks of team training... I am asking since he is with a teammate currently team training if the team mate is allowed to stay out while he does his home time, or if the team mate also has to take home time. They get paid for all miles driven between the two of them at 0.22 CPM.
Drivers are often paid by the mile and it's given in cents per mile, or cpm.
Thanks for the clarification.
I'm sure they have a way to deal with this issue. I wouldn't let it worry you too much. Everyone needs a little time at home, so I'm confident they are accustomed to dealing with this problem.

My husband is currently doing team training with USXPress, I was wondering if when my husband takes his home time if his teammate is allowed to stay out OTR while my husband is taking home time, or if one takes home time they both have too. He has another 5 weeks left for team training, and I know that if he stays home for his time, he will be a week behind his teammate if that's the case leaving him a week without a partner. If anyone can answer this for me it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
A truckers wife.
OTR:
Over The Road
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
