So I wasn't careful in hooking my CB up this past time starting out, reversed the POS & NEG - I blew the protection diode. I was able to get some help replacing the diode. I'm going to put in an inline fuse on the pos lead. Do I need a 3amp or should I go w/ a 5amp? I'm not doing anything crazy with this radio, just plugging it. It is a Corba 29 ltd.

I always used the 5 amp.In some of our rigs, when they start they throw a little overload, so they would keep blowing the 3 amps....just a thought.

Most CB plugs come with most radios so there is no use in splicing in one. They sale them premade in almost every truck stop in America and are pretty cheap. But yes I do believe most use a 5 amp fuse. I use a 10 amp fuse in my power cord do to the radio I run.
